ABSTRACT Nawal Marwan, mother to twin brother and sister Simon and Jeanne Marwan, passes away after suffering a massive stroke at a community swimming pool, sending the pair to her Lebanon-esque homeland in the Middle East as stipulated in her will. Flashbacks to Nawal's traumatizing upbringing are utilized to paint a picture of the late mother's life and times as the twin venture out to her native corner of the world, ultimately learning a lesson about their lineage and respective existences by film's end.
