While adventurer Jack Colton and novelist Joan Wilder bask in the afterglow of Romancing the Stone (1984), North African sheik Omar decides that Joan is perfect to pen his life story. While in Omar's employ, she stumbles across a dissident spiritual guru, The Jewel of the Nile, held prisoner. Meanwhile Jack teams up with Ralph from the first film, seeking a missing gem, The Jewel of the Nile. This confusion extends as Omar tries to seize power in his unnamed country. Very 1980s, but still an enjoyable romp.
