Part of a circus troupe sent as a cross-cultural delegation, Russian musician Vladimir Ivanoff defects to the United States, finding life there differs from his expectations. Robin Williams yields his finest dramatic performance in this fish-out-of-water drama/comedy, which is perhaps one of the best films to depict the contrasts between the two countries.
