Period piece tells of the Boleyn sisters' battle to win the illicit affection of King Henry VIII of England.

ABSTRACT
Frustrated over his inability to produce a male heir with wife Katherine of Aragon, King Henry VIII of England entertains an audience with the aristocratic Boleyn family, telling of his plans to take one of their daughters as his mistress with the intent of producing a worthy heir. The initial plan in the Boleyn camp is to put forth Anne, the charismatic half of the Boleyn sisters, to fulfill the King's desires; after Henry expresses a wish to indulge in a romance with the markedly meek Mary, however, an all-out interpersonal conflict with far reaching consequences breaks out, as two young sisters hungry for an elevated position of privilege fight for the monarch's heart.
