Director: Robert Luketic Writers: Allan Loeb; Peter Steinfeld Based on a book: Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich Keywords: Drama, Gambling, Las Vegas A group of M.I.T. students become card-counting savants, using their expertise to take various Las Vegas casinos for a wild ride.
ABSTRACT Ben Campbell, a gifted, ambitious M.I.T. student unable to transfer to Harvard School of Medicine thanks to his decidedly working-class background, is introduced to fellow students Choi, Fisher, Jill, and Kianna at the behest of math professor Micky Rosa one fateful day. Trained to become an expert in the art of card-counting, Ben joins up with his fellow students on hush-hush trips to some of Las Vegas's biggest and best casinos with the goal of looting them of untold sums of money playing blackjack; soon enough, of course, Ben's initially-admirable desires to raise money for school give way to greed and casino-led suspicions of wrongdoing.
