Love Is the Devil (16-Sep-1998)
Original Title: Love Is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon Director: John Maybury Writer: John Maybury Keywords: Drama, Biography, Painting, Gay
REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 25-Dec-2006) This movie is about a period of Francis Bacon's (painter) life. A man breaks into his apartment and Bacon invites the bugglar to bed. They become lovers. The bugglar is played by Daniel Craig who later was chosen for James Bond. Love is the Devil is much more appreciated if you are gay since it is about a gay relationship. The soundtrack is one of the best I've heard of any film and works very well with this movie. Bacon and George Dyer (Craig) both have mental issues that are not especially common in the gay culture, however, the movie is worth the time of watching (a few times to really understand it). The full frontal nude scene of Daniel Craig is enjoyable if you like that kind of stuff.
