ABSTRACT
An experiment to alleviate problems brought about by climate change backfires tremendously, blanketing the Earth with inhospitable snow and ice and forcing what remains of humanity to take refuge in a "miracle train" circling the globe with a perpetual-motion engine. Over time, a class system develops on the train, leading capable underprivileged passenger Curtis to spearhead a revolt taking him all the way to the conductor's car. Cerebral to a fault, Snowpiercer is a compelling departure from effects-driven, paper-thin action romps of late.
