Hotel Rwanda (11-Sep-2004)|
Director: Terry George
Writers: Keir Pearson; Terry George
Biographical drama follows a Rwandan hotel manager's attempts to shelter a number of Tutsi refugees from his country's Hutu-led genocide.
Set in 1994 during the darkest days of the Rwandan Genocide, a catastrophic ethnic cleansing that saw over one million Tutsis and "moderate" Hutus murdered by the Hutu-controlled Rwandan government, Hotel Rwanda tells the true-life story of hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina, an everyman forced to take matters into his own hands and shelter innocent civilizations from the ongoing chaos when the world powers of the day refuse to come to the assistance of those persecuted.
