An old fisherman in pre-Revolutionary Cuba has 84 days of bad luck without catching a fish, calling doubts to his abilities and worth. His luck is so bad that even the boy who assists him has been told to work for others. On day 85 the fisherman hooks a very large marlin, dragging his boat out to sea in an epic struggle. Classic adaptation of Hemingway's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, with Hemingway himself acting as consultant.
