Wall-E (27-Jun-2008)
Director: Andrew Stanton Writer: Andrew Stanton Keywords: Sci-Fi, Dystopian, Robots A robot tasked with removing trash from a post-apocalyptic Earth embarks on a journey crucial to the future of humanity.
ABSTRACT In a dystopian future where runaway consumerism leaves the Earth filled with literal trash and the remnants of humanity existing as morbidly obese spaceship-dwellers, the trash compactor robot WALL-E stands alone on the Blue Marble, fending for himself as a self-aware robot long after his brethren had been deactivated. Lonely for centuries save for a pet cockroach, WALL-E ends up setting out on a purely Disney quest to salvage Earth and guarantee humanity's continued existence after he forms a strong connection with EVE, a hyper-advanced robot sent by humans to scope out signs of vegetation.
