Fruitvale Station is the fictionalized account of the last day in the life of Oscar Grant, a 22-year old San Francisco-area man who was fatally shot by Bay Area Rapid Transit Station police officer Johannes Mehserle at Oakland's Fruitvale station in the early morning hours of New Year's Day, 2009.
