ABSTRACT
Brooklyn man Harry dreams of opening a boutique with girlfriend Marion, who desires nothing more than to break away from the influence of her wealthy father. Unfortunately, the pair fall deeper and deeper under the control of heroin alongside friend Tyrone. At much the same time, Harry's mother Sara dreams of once again fitting into her favorite red dress, falling victim to amphetamine abuse as part of a diet program pushed by television-show huckster Tappy Tibbons. Gritty and desperate, Requiem for a Dream (adapted from the Hubert Selby novel of the same name) painfully and accurately portrays people trapped by addiction in various forms.
