ABSTRACT
Serbian-American performance artist Marina Abramovic is profiled in The Artist is Present, a documentary that follows the exhibitionist as she prepares for and participates in a two-month-long retrospective of her body of work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The piece, which saw Abramovic sitting immobile in the museum's atrium as spectators took turns sitting across from her, ran from March 14 to May 31, 2010, and was considered to be a watershed moment in her storied career.
