Jeff Goldblum is physicist Seth Brundle, inventor of "telepods", teleportation devices. He suspects his girlfriend, a magazine writer, is still seeing her ex. In a drunken fit, he self-experiments by teleporting himself, a risk he was not willing to take earlier. But a housefly trapped in the device at the same time fuses its DNA to his. Good modern remake of The Fly (1958). Won Oscar for Best Makeup.
