A Johannesburg criminal faces the biggest challenge of his life when he hijacks a car with a baby in the backseat.

ABSTRACT
Tsotsi, a teenage Johannesburg boy hardened into a violent criminal bereft of empathy or morals by his troubled upbringing, engages in an endless string of nefarious acts around his South African metropolis designed to sustain his existence while inflicting misery on others. One such act of violence sees Tsotsi shooting a woman before hijacking her car; discovering some time later that there is a baby in the backseat, Tsotsi takes the child home, moved to function as a sort of father figure when the youngster's plight awakens a sense of humanity in his blackened soul.
