Director: Frank Marshall Writer: Dave DiGilio Keywords: Action/Adventure Two employees at an Antarctica research base unintentionally force a pack of sled dogs to fend for themselves amidst dangerous conditions.
ABSTRACTBased on an earlier Japanese film, Antarctica (1983). Jerry Shepard, a guide working at an American research base in Antarctica, heads out on a mission to Mount Melbourne in January 1993 with scientist Davis McClaren under pressure from their boss and against his better judgement. Treacherous seasonal conditions force the guide/scientist pair to attempt the route to their destination by dog sled, leading to a situation where the dogs are forced to fend for themselves in unforgiving climes after the mission goes awry and strands them just as their human counterparts are brought to safety.
