ABSTRACT Prequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). A young woman working as a serf-like laborer in a meat-packing plant dies giving birth to a young boy in 1939; discovered in a dumpster by Luda Mae Hewitt, he is taken under her care like her own son, named Thomas. Flash forward to 1969: Thomas, now a deranged man working in the same meat-packing plant, flies into a rage when the plant's closure is announced, killing his boss with a sledgehammer. Thus begins Thomas' transformation into cannibalistic serial killer Leatherface, a process completed when he massacres a group of teens evading the Vietnam War alongside his sheriff-impersonating brother.
