Billed as a look into "a few hours in the shadowy life of Monsieur Oscar", Holy Motors follows the apparent career of Oscar, a peculiar Frenchman traveling by white limousine who makes his trade performing "appointments" that see him carrying out a number of bizarre acting roles for the service of unseen clients. Avant-garde and markedly difficult to digest in just one sitting, Holy Motors received a polarized reaction from moviegoers and critics alike upon its release.
