Cindy's father has a heart attack; she and her husband Bob must travel to him in Indianapolis and someone must be found to care for their children. As a last resort her brother Uncle Buck is enlisted, a 40-year-old bachelor who has difficulty taking anything seriously. Funny though predictable comedy, the lead role perfect for John Candy.
