Control (17-May-2007)
Director: Anton Corbijn Writer: Matt Greenhalgh Based on a book: Touching from a Distance by Deborah Curtis (memoir) Keywords: Drama, Biography, Rock and Roll Biopic chronicles the short life of troubled Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis.
ABSTRACT Ian Curtis was one of the British post-punk scene's most prominent figures for a time, seeing Joy Division through to mainstream fame as their frontman. His life behind the scenes, of course, was nowhere near as rosy as Joy Division's prospects: beset with a morose upbringing, dysfunctional love life, and battles with epilepsy and depression, he hanged himself at the age of twenty-three in 1980. Control follows Curtis' life from his troubled early years to his untimely end.
