Drumline (7-Aug-2002)
Director: Charles Stone III Writers: Tina Gordon Chism; Shawn Schepps Keywords: Drama, Dance A Harlem drummer aspires to lead a Southern college's "show-style" marching band to glory.
ABSTRACT Set in the world of "show-style" marching bands commonly found at historically black colleges and universities, Drumline is the story of Devon Miles, a Harlem drummer who happens upon what appears to be the opportunity of a lifetime when he earns a free-ride scholarship to Atlanta A&T University. Eager to lead the school's "drumline" to glory, the egotistical Devon instead finds conflict with the college's teamwork-oriented approach to their sound, learning that he must learn to sacrifice and work well with others if he is to be afforded a chance to shine.
