Biopic documents Queen Elizabeth I's reign as Queen of England during a time of immense unrest.

ABSTRACT
1588, Western Europe: Queen Elizabeth I, entering her third decade as Queen of England, faces a number of troubles at home and abroad. An avowed Protestant, she is vilified by the Pope and Catholic Spain, so much so that Philip II desires to raise an armada to conquer her territory. Elizabeth: The Golden Age follows the infamously celibate Queen as she navigates a possible romance with Sir Walter Raleigh while managing Spanish threats and an ongoing cultural explosion back home.
