Film adaptation of the 2006 novel of the same name chronicles a troubled teenager's adventures in an adult psychiatric ward.

ABSTRACT
Craig, a brilliant yet troubled high-school junior, checks himself into an area psych ward after contemplating suicide by jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge one day. Expecting to be handed a routine observation and get sent home the next day, Craig is informed that he is mandated to stay for a week, forging an unlikely relationship with a girl about his age and gaining valuable insight into the human condition in the process.
