Performance artist Christine Jesperson is a lonely woman who resorts to her fantastical artistic abilities to connect with others in her world; Richard Swersey is a single father and shoe salesman, burnt out from his exasperating life. Two curious characters cross paths with one another, influencing each other's lives in strange ways to form a narrative crafted by director Miranda July about socialization in the modern world.
