Film adaptation of the novel of the same name follows a London-area lawyer's attempts to start the sale process of a recently-vacated estate haunted by a terrifying specter.

Based on the 1983 novella of the same name, The Woman in Black follows London lawyer Arthur Kipps as he is tasked by his office to acquire the prerequisite paperwork to sell a manor, the Eel Marsh House, that has been left vacant on the account of owner Alice Drablow's recent demise. Kipps is met with a cold reception from locals and associates in town near the Eel Marsh House upon his arrival, soon becoming party to a series of increasingly-disturbing happenings seemingly perpetrated by a shadowy feminine figure that threaten to dismantle his very existence.
