ABSTRACT
Ree Dolly, a seventeen-year old girl living in the Ozarks with her severely depressed mother, brother Teardrop, and sister Ashlee, does everything she can to keep her family together in the absence of father Jessup. When the town sheriff arrives at the Dolly family's doorstep one day to inform them that Jessup put their house up as collateral for his bail and that they will be evicted if he does not show up for his court date, Ree sets out on a risky journey straight into her region's underworld, risking her own life attempting to find her meth-producing father for the good of the rest of her family.
