EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

Founded 1909 as the Fourth District Agricultural School, it became the Arkansas Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1925, became a junior college in 1928 and a four-year college in 1940, and in 1971 joined the University of Arkansas System as the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
