Began 1883 as South Florida Institute (in Orlando), renamed 1901 to Southern College (in Palm Harbor), moved to Lakeland in 1922, name changed 1935 to Florida Southern College. Boasts the world's largest grouping of buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (12 buildings).
