COMPANY

Part of the court-mandated split of Standard Oil in 1911. The company was for a while known as Sohio, operating filling stations under that brand. Controlling interest acquired by British Petroleum in the 1970s, with the remainder being acquired in 1988. The last use of the Standard Oil/Sohio brand by BP was in 1991.
