Investment vehicle of Gregg L. Engles, responsible for major consolidation in the dairy industry. Its name stems from its first purchase, the Puerto Rican company Suiza Dairy, founded 1942, and acquired 1994. After its IPO in 1996, Suiza Foods made some forty acquisitions. Acquired the third-largest US dairy company, Dean Foods, in 2001, assuming its identity.
