COMPANY

Formed 1978 by the merger of Dean Witter with Reynolds & Co. Dean Witter Reynolds was acquired by Sears Roebuck in 1981 and maintained its identity there. Sears spun it off 20% as an IPO and 80% to shareholders as Dean Witter Discover in 1993. It merged with Morgan Stanley in 1997.
