LTV
COMPANY
Ling-Temco-Vought, an amalgam founded in 1949 by the merger of Ling Electric, Temco Aircraft and Chance Vought Aerospace. This company was a 30,000-employee conglomerate with major aerospace and steel operations. The name was changed in 1971 to LTV Corporation. After shedding many of its businesses it became LTV Steel in 1993, and filed for bankruptcy in 2000. Its remnants were merged along with assets from ISG Weirton Steel into the International Steel Group, which is now owned by Mittal.
