IG Farben
COMPANY
Chemical, dye, and rubber manufacturer founded 1925 by the merger of BASF, Bayer AG, and four other industrial concerns. As punishment for the company's involvement in assorted war crimes, including the manufacture of Zyklon B, the principle poison used in Nazi extermination camps, Farben was put into liquidation by the Allied Control Council following World War II.
