Pamela Geller Born: 14-Jun-1958 Birthplace: Long Island, NY
Gender: Female Religion: Jewish Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Blogger, Activist Party Affiliation: Republican Nationality: United States Executive summary: Right-wing blogger Pamela Geller is the publisher and principle author of the Atlas Shrugs website, named as a tribute to Ayn Rand's seminal novel, Atlas Shrugged, which Geller cites as inspiration. Geller is popular in right-wing political circles, and came to broader attention in 2010 as her group, Stop Islamization of America, led opposition to construction of Park51, an Islamic community center two and a half blocks from the former site of the World Trade Centers, or as Geller and other anti-Islamic voices called it, the "Ground Zero Mosque." She claimed that the project's intent was to celebrate the attacks that toppled the WTC, which its organizers denied, and that its grand opening was scheduled for the day of the ten-year anniversary of 9/11, which was untrue.
In her writings, Geller has claimed that Muslim groups are trying to impose sharia law on America, that Barack Obama is himself Muslim, anti-Semitic, and was not born in America, that he is pursuing an "agenda of socialism for the United States of America", and that nude pornographic photos of Obama's mother have been suppressed. On international issues, Geller has defended accused Serbian war criminal Slobodan Milosevic, claimed that black South Africans are plotting a "genocide" against whites, and frequently states her admiration for Geert Wilders, a controversial Dutch politician who calls for banning the Koran. In 2015 another group fronted by Geller, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, won a court case forcing New York City's public transit system to accept ads that read, "Killing Jews is Worship that draws us close to Allah."
Her blog lost its PayPal "donate" button in 2010, when the on-line payment service deemed Atlas Shrugs a hate site. Husband: Michael Oshry (auto dealer, b. 5-May-1956, div., d. 4-Oct-2008)
