Jude Law started acting at 12, and dropped out of high school at 16 to take a role on the popular British soap opera Families. Early in his career he played Kathleen Turner's son in Indescretions on Broadway, and fell for Stephen Fry in Wilde and Claire Danes in I Love You, I Love You Not. Law has been most effective in somewhat off-kilter movie roles. He played an alcoholic paraplegic in Gattaca, and was murdered in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and The Talented Mr. Ripley. He played a sadistic killer in Road to Perdition, and a mechanical sex toy who befriended Haley Joel Osment in A.I.

As a struggling actor, he once shared an apartment with Ewan McGregor, and they remain friends and partners in a production company, called Natural Nylon.

In 2002, Law's 2-year-old daughter Iris ingested an ecstasy tablet she found on the floor at a birthday party in London. She was unharmed.
