Ken Auletta writes in his article "The Lost Tycoon" in The New Yorker, 23 April 2001, Turner "alternately describes himself as an atheist and an agnostic." He notes Turner's reaction when wife Jane Fonda suddenly announced her Christianity was one of shock more than anything else.
