Captain of Georgetown University's 1961-62 team. Former attorney for the NFL, and now Commissioner of the National Football League, from November 5, 1989 to September 3, 2006. He was the fourth Commissioner, succeeding Pete Rozelle. During Tagliabue's tenure, the NFL expanded from 28 to 32 teams. Was named in late 2001 by The Sporting News as the most influential person in sports.
