Executive summary: Speechwriter for Reagan, Bush, Schwarzenegger

Republican speechwriter, who wrote for Ronald Reagan, his wife Nancy (specifically when there were complaints about her "opulence") After the Reagans he left the White House for a bit in 1985 to become executive assistant to the US Ambassador to Britain. A gag he wrote for George H.W. Bush for April Fool's Day had his wife Barbara wearing an awful red wig at a fundraiser dinner. With the audience too confused or scared to say anything about the strange wig, Bush took the podium and said, "Luckily Barbara has not reacted in the slightest to all the comments about her gray hair." A later, more notorious gag for George W. Bush had the President looking for the missing Iraqi WMD's in various places including underneath a desk table. It was funny, but didn't play well in the press while there were Americans dying nearly every day in Iraq.
