Composer of symphonic and operatic music. Staying in Paris in 1913, his longtime friend Alfredo Casella exposed him to the work of Igor Stravinsky, suggesting that Malipiero attend the premier of The Rite of Spring. Malipiero later edited the collected works of Claudio Monteverdi and, with Casella, those of Antonio Vivaldi, resulting in a resurgence in the popularity of the latter composer.
