Anti-Darwinist, father of "intelligent design", which claims that the universe was created by an intelligent force -- making it a more distinguished, pseudo-scientific euphemism for Creationism. Former professor of criminal law at UC Berkeley, where he taught for 26 years before retiring to pursue his intellectual agenda: demolishing not just the theories of Charles Darwin, but replacing the academic culture associated with the man. His third book is dedicated to fundamentalist Christian philanthropist Howard Ahmanson, Jr. and his wife Roberta, who help bankroll the anti-evolution movement.

Believes that HIV is not the sole cause of AIDS.
