[1] Cerebral hemorrhage caused by an accident during a skiing lesson at Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec. Initially, Richardson declined treatment from paramedics on the scene, but a persistent headache saw her check into a hospital at Ste. Agathe, Quebec. She was transferred first to a hospital in Montreal, and then to Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. She remained there until removal from life support, after which she died. See Ian Austen and Liz Robbins, "4 Hours Passed Before Richardson Went to Hospital", The New York Times, 20 March 2009.
