Birthplace: Monserrat, West Indies

Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: Black

Executive summary: Soca performer

Beginning his music career in Trinidad as a popular calypso performer, Arrow has since become the world's most visible purveyor of soca, a style of calypso that combines other forms such as soul and traditional African music. Some of his songs have made an impact in American and British dance clubs, but he remains best known in the States through Buster Pondexter (David Johansen)'s 1987 cover version of Hot Hot Hot.
