Some of his songs made an impact in American and British dance clubs, but he was best known in the United States through Buster Poindexter (David Johansen)'s 1987 cover version of Hot Hot Hot. His popularity in the Carribean, on the other hand, was enormous from the time he was first crowned "Calypso Monarch of Monserrat" in 1971 until his death in 2010. [1] Some sources say 1954.
