Simon Napier-Bell

Born: 22-Apr-1939
Birthplace: London, England

Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Gay [1]
Occupation: Music Producer

Nationality: England
Executive summary: British music manager

Manager and sometime producer of a number of influential bands, including Asia, Marc Bolan, T-Rex, Ultravox, Wham!, and The Yardbirds.

Once considered a libel suit against author Albert Goldman and the Daily Mail for printing the lie that Napier-Bell was (of all things) heterosexual. Oddly, Goldman famously outed Brian Epstein at the same time as gay.

[1] Answering a question on his website, 26 June 2008, as to why he didn't want "anonymous sex in a dark place", asked by Colonel Jim: "One of the great things about being gay is the way easy sexual encounters turn up from nowhere. I've had hundreds of them, often with people I'd never met till that moment and never saw again afterwards... For me the most sexually arousing thing about a person is the way they look. It puzzles me that someone should want to have sex with a stranger they can't see. Though with an ugly old bugger like you it might have its advantages."

Slept with: Marc Bolan (musician, per interview with Richard Bevan)

    High School: Bryanston School, Dorset

Nomis Management Co-Founder (with Jazz Summers)
