[1] Killed along with passengers talent agent Irving G. Meyers and aspiring actress Ann Russell, when the Beechcraft he was piloting lost its engine and he was forced to attempt an emergency landing. Francis was not a licensed pilot. Authorities issued a determination of pilot error.
