Jenna Elfman is an accomplished ballerina, taking lessons from the age of five. She danced in the 1991 Oscars telecast, long before Dharma & Greg made her famous.
She was a complete pot-head in her teen years, a habit she dumped when her husband threatened to leave her.
Elfman's uncle is Tony Butala of the Lettermen, the pop trio who sang "When I Fall In Love" before Donny Osmond covered it. Her husband is Bodhi Elfman, an actor (they met at auditions for a Sprite commercial), making her father-in-law Richard Elfman, director of Forbidden Zone, and her uncle-in-law composer Danny Elfman.
In a 2005 interview, Elfman said it was her "duty to clear the planet," which means ridding the world of "body thetans" -- space aliens who, Scientologists believe, have inhabited the earth since a nuclear explosion 75 million years ago. Elfman later explained that she had been misquoted, and that "clearing the planet" merely meant she wants to help people rid themselves of negative emotions and create a world without insanity, criminality, or war.
