Geert Wilders Born: 6-Sep-1963 Birthplace: Venlo, Limburg, Netherlands
Gender: Male Religion: Atheist Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Politician Nationality: Netherlands Executive summary: Dutch Freedom Party Known mostly for his tasteless Islamophobia, Utrecht MP Geert Wilders founded the Dutch Freedom Party after being expelled from a more mainstream party in 2004. In a parody of the Theo Van Gogh-Ayaan Hirsi Ali short Submission (2004), Wilders produced an agitprop documentary of his own, Fitna (2008). The film juxtaposes footage of terrorist attacks with verses from the Koran, but plagiarizes whole sequences from another anti-Islam documentary, Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West (2005).[1] Wilders introduced the film to an American audience at a blue-plate lunch in Philadelphia; Sen. Jon Kyl arranged a private screening at the US Capitol, and the film was later shown at the House of Lords. Wilders was refused entry to England in 2009, and has since been charged with inciting racial hatred in the Netherlands. [1] "De Israël-connectie van Geert Wilders", Vrij Nederland, 15 October 2009.
