| Rupert Grint AKA Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint
Born: 24-Aug-1988 Birthplace: Hertfordshire, England
Gender: Male Race or Ethnicity: White Occupation: Actor Nationality: England Executive summary: Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series Among the three teens who star in the Harry Potter movies, Rupert Grint is the dorky-looking red-haired boy. Unlike Daniel Radcliffe, the kid who plays Harry Potter, Grint did not have his part handed to him by his parents.
Grint's pre-Potter résumé consisted of a few school plays and local amateur theater, but he applied for the role of Ron when the film was first announced. When he heard no reply he filmed his own audition video, pretending to be a drama teacher -- a woman, by the way -- recommending this Grint boy for the role. In the video, Grint also ad libbed some Potteresque dialogue, and performed a rap he had written, all about how perfect he'd be for the role of Ron. He was 12, and his mother held the camera. Soon he was Ron Weasley, Harry's sidekick, in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, followed by several wildly popular sequels.
