| Cameron Diaz AKA Cameron Michelle Diaz
Born: 30-Aug-1972 Birthplace: San Diego, CA
Gender: Female Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor Nationality: United States Executive summary: There's Something About Mary Diaz met a photographer at a party when she was 16, was signed as a model, and worked in Japan, Australia, Morocco, Paris, Mexico, until deciding she wanted to be an actress. Numerous try-outs led to no call-backs, until Diaz auditioned for a small role as a reporter in the 1994 adventure, The Mask. After several screen tests, they hired someone else to play the reporter, and Diaz was cast as Jim Carrey's love interest instead. Diaz has appeared in My Best Friend's Wedding, Charlie's Angels, and Gangs of New York. Some of her most memorable movies, though, have been smaller, independent films like There's Something About Mary and the cannibal comedy The Last Supper. In Being John Malkovich, she played John Cusack's unrecognisably plain, frumpy wife.
Diaz became briefly "controversial" in England in 2000, when she modeled for an ad for the British film magazine Hotdog. In the ad, Diaz has her hand inside her shorts and panties. "Diaz is fully clothed", said a spokesman for Hotdog, "and wearing knickers underneath her shorts. The shot is cheeky and innocent." But with the ad's tag line the pleasure's all mine, the Advertising Standards Authority banned the ads as an allusion to masturbation.
