After unexplained ship sinkings near Odo Island, paleontologist Dr. Yamane investigates and finds an ancient dinosaur responsible, known as Gojira, recently released from entombment by atomic radiation. Nobody believes him. Almost a remake of The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953), and the first in a very long line of Godzilla and other monster films produced by Toho.
